GDC CPD hours by role — and how to actually complete them online
Your hours total depends on your GDC registration group. Everyone has a yearly minimum. Incisal is dental CPD online structured so those numbers are visible, and the recommended topics are not left until the last six months of the cycle.
Dentists: 100 hours / 5 years
Hygienists, therapists, orthodontic therapists: 75 hours / 5 years
Dental nurses, technicians, CDTs: 50 hours / 5 years
At least 10 verifiable hours every year for all groups
A five-year total tempts people to back-load. The GDC also requires at least 10 verifiable hours in each year of the cycle. Incisal’s tracker exists so February of year four is not a surprise.
Hours are necessary; relevance is the rule
Filling 100 hours with activity outside your field of practice is not the scheme. Choose dental CPD online that matches what you do — medical emergencies and safeguarding for everyone; IR(ME)R if you irradiate; periodontal modules if that is your week.
